A passive stylus, also known as a capacitive stylus, conducts electric charges from your body to the device with a surface capacitive touchscreen with the intent to generate a finger-like touch response. It’s capable of most basic inputs, and it works with a resistive touchscreen as well. A passive/capacitive stylus is also known as a universal stylus pen because it’s compatible with any touch-sensitive device.
