Xiaomi names its new SUV the YU7 and is coming in mid-2025

Xiaomis second car was revealed as the company applied for its sales license in China. Along with the first pictures of the production version and key specs, the name was revealed: Xiaomi YU7.

Xiaomi YU7 is an all-electric SUV 4,999 mm long, 1,996 mm wide, and 1,600 mm high. Its wheelbase is 3,000 mm, and its curb weight is 2,405 kg.

The model is equipped with dual electric motors, a front 220 kW and a rear 288 kW, providing a total power of 508 kW (681 hp), good for a top speed of 253 km/h. The electricity will be stored in a lithium NMC battery from CATL; the capacity hasn’t been revealed yet.

Xiaomi announced today that the YU7 will launch in June or July 2025, which is surprisingly late as homologation fillings within MIIT are usually the last step before hitting the market. CarNewsChina expects the price to be between 250,000 and 350,000 yuan (34k and 48k USD). Tesla Model Y SUV starts at 249,900 yuan (34k USD) in China.
